The official boat of the 21st BIG OM was made for the sea, fishing and big challenges: Tuccoli T250 VM
Every angler knows that a day at sea rarely turns out exactly as we imagined it while we were still in the harbour. The sea can change quickly, waves can rise, the deck can become crowded with equipment, and when the fish finally bites, you can never have too much space, stability or safety.
And when you are fishing for tuna, especially one that can keep a crew fighting for hours, a good boat becomes much more than a means of transportation. It becomes part of the fishing equipment, part of the strategy and, above all, a reliable support for the crew.
That is precisely why the boat you spend hours at sea on matters.
This year, Tuccoli is the official boat of the 21st BIG OM, an international big-game fishing tournament taking place in Omišalj on the island of Krk from 26 to 30 August, bringing together anglers from Croatia and neighbouring countries.
Among the boats that will be part of the BIG OM story this year, a special place belongs to the Tuccoli T250 VM – a fishing boat designed from the perspective of people who know exactly what it means to spend an entire day at sea, organise equipment, fight a big fish and, at the end of the day, return safely to harbour.
When the sea gets rough, confidence in your boat matters
There is little room for compromise at sea.
When the waves are no longer just a gentle rocking motion, anglers are not thinking about unnecessary extras or showroom finishes. What matters is how the boat performs underway, how stable and safe it is, and how much confidence it inspires in the crew.
The Tuccoli T250 VM is 7.77 metres long, and its concept is simple: to offer a serious, functional and robust boat for people who see the sea as much more than a weekend getaway.
Because when you are offshore, you want to know that your boat will do exactly what you expect from it – provide safe navigation, give the crew control and leave enough space for everyone to focus on why they went out to sea in the first place.
Fishing.
The challenge.
That one big fish that makes it all worthwhile.
A cockpit that adapts to the angler
One of the distinctive features of the Tuccoli T250 VM is the Tuccoli Modular Deck, a system that allows the deck layout to be adapted to the owner’s actual needs and fishing style.
Live-bait tanks, insulated fish storage compartments, seats and other fishing equipment can all be arranged exactly the way the crew needs them.
For a sport angler, that means one thing above all – more free space, fewer obstacles and easier crew movement when the action starts.
And anyone who has ever found themselves in a fight with a big fish knows just how important every free step on deck can be.
Especially when tuna fishing.
Because when a tuna takes off, nobody on board wants to hear: “Just a second, I can’t get through!”
Everything has its place
A long day at sea also means a lot of equipment.
The Tuccoli T250 VM features a large forward storage compartment with a capacity of almost 4 cubic metres, designed to store fenders, ropes, bags and everything else that would otherwise take up valuable deck space.
The result is a cleaner and more organised cockpit – ready for fishing, yet flexible enough to adapt to the owner’s different needs.
And when the target is a big tuna, organisation is not a luxury. It is part of fishing.
Comfort you wouldn’t expect from a fishing boat
Under the central console, there is a space with a height of up to 1.70 metres, which can be used as a changing area, for safe and dry storage of sensitive equipment, or even for installing a proper toilet.
It may not be the feature that determines your decision when you head out in search of a big tuna, but after several hours at sea, it can make a real difference.
Especially when the boat is carrying not only experienced anglers, but also family, friends or guests.
Because serious sport fishing does not have to mean giving up every bit of comfort.
A hull designed to bring you home
The heart of every serious fishing boat is its hull.
Tuccoli’s Progressive Hull, with its progressive V-shaped geometry, was not developed simply to achieve high speeds. Its purpose is to provide something that is often much more important offshore – control, stability, safety and comfort.
Especially while drifting, but also when navigating through the short, steep waves that are certainly no stranger to us on the Adriatic.
Fewer impacts, less crew fatigue and greater control while underway – and when weather conditions change, that feeling of security is what matters most.
Because a good day of fishing does not end when the fish is brought aboard.
It ends when the crew returns safely to harbour.
Nothing unnecessary. Everything for a reason.
The Tuccoli T250 VM is not a boat that tries to impress with unnecessary details.
It is a functional, solid and pragmatic fishing boat, handcrafted in Italy, whose final configuration can be adapted to the way its owner wants to spend time at sea.
Nothing unnecessary. Everything for a reason.
Because when you spend an entire day far from shore, what matters most is not how many features a boat has.
What matters is how it performs.
How it behaves when the sea is no longer calm.
How stable it is when you are on the fishing grounds.
How easily the crew can move when the action starts.
And, at the end of the day, how it brings you home.
Tuccoli at BIG OM – see it in action
That is why we are particularly pleased that Tuccoli is the official boat of the 21st BIG OM – a tournament that for more than two decades has brought together people for whom the sea, sport fishing and the challenge mean much more than simply spending a day on a boat.
From 26 to 30 August 2026 in Omišalj, you will have the opportunity to see the Tuccoli T250 VM up close, discover what it can do and learn more about configurations designed for sport fishing.
And perhaps this year we will see it in its most exciting setting – in action, as a crew takes on one of the Adriatic’s biggest stars.
The tuna.
Because BIG OM without a big fish simply would not be BIG OM.
And if Tuccoli does its part this year as well as we expect, we hope to see it with plenty of reasons to smile – and, hopefully, with a few more tuna on deck.
