From August 28 to 31, KSRM “BIG OM” organized the 19th International Big Game Fishing Competition.
With the participation of 35 volunteers and official oversight from the Oceanographic Institute, the Croatian Fishing Federation, the Fisheries Inspectorate, and the Coast Guard, the competition brought together 33 crews with 150 participants from Croatia and abroad. It also served as a qualifying event for the 2025 World Cup in Costa Rica.
The victory went to the Slovenian crew Liquid Tuna with a 225 kg tuna catch, while second and third place were claimed by local teams Mane 2 and Team Dumboka. A total of 44 bites were recorded, with 10 tuna caught, weighing a total of 842 kg.
The event was enriched with entertainment programs, gastronomic festivities, and public weigh-ins on the Omišalj waterfront, further confirming BIG OM’s status as a prestigious competition and a major tourist event.
